What I’m thankful for…

As my daughter and I wind down from what has been our best holiday season yet, I am reflecting on the year, and all it has brought. Two more babies born just last week {blog pics to update!}, and just in time for Christmas! What a wonderful gift; I cannot think of a more pleasurable way to wrap up what has been an amazing year of growth in my life. Enjoying all the little things, being thankful for what my daughter and I have, wondering what 2012 will bring, and looking forward to supporting many, many more women and their families. Since July of this year, I have supported ten women and families. Ten in six months; awe-inspiring! Not only have I been fortunate enough to support them from the few hours of labor, to the days of labor (six to be exact); reminding my client and her partner of the joyous end in sight… So far, I have been able to support all ten clients, at all ten births! Feels wonderful to be supported {and backed up} by some amazing doula sisters, but even more awesome to have that 100% track record to boot. 🙂 While I know my day will come that extra support will be necessary and needed, I can rest well knowing I’m in good doula hands.

One of my most favorite shots from my doula work this year; I actually come out from behind the lens from time to time. 🙂

A big Thank You!

I’ve just wrapped three births in the past two weeks. As I catch up on life, {and take a breath!} I realize just how life-changing this experience to serve women is, and what a positive impact I can attribute to woman’s lives, to their partner’s lives, and to the extended families.

To see the pure joy in the room; a child is born. New life. A fresh start. It’s exhilarating to say the least, what an honor to be in such a sacred circle. Thank you to my past, current and future client’s. You are all amazing and inspiring!

A day in the life…

I’d like to start posting something personal~ a comment; an image; a random quote. I’m hoping this can become an interactive way to convey feelings and thoughts from my subscribers (and those who like to have a look at my blog from time to time)…
